Laura Beals

With over a decade of teaching experience, Laura’s musical journey began at age four on the piano before she added violin at age nine, cultivating a lifelong love for both instruments. Grounded in classical training and a balance of structure and creativity, she enjoys sharing the joy of music with students of all ages.

Laura is classically trained and teaches primarily using the Suzuki Method, believing that every child can learn to play an instrument in a supportive and encouraging environment. She is committed to partnering with families to help students succeed, providing clear structure, encouragement, and individualized guidance along the way. Her teaching focuses on building strong technical foundations, musicality, and confidence, while keeping lessons engaging and enjoyable. She works with both beginning and intermediate students, meeting each one where they are and helping them grow at their own pace.

While lessons are rooted in classical training, Laura also enjoys occasionally incorporating fiddle tunes and other genres to keep students inspired and excited about playing.

Her performance experience includes playing with the Chehalem Symphony Orchestra, as well as participating in ensemble and collaborative performances.

When she’s not teaching, practicing, or performing, Laura can usually be found tending to her ever-growing collection of houseplants (currently 29 and counting), crocheting, playing board games with her family, or out walking in the beautiful, unpredictable Oregon weather.
